You might have heard of pear and apple shapes but probably not what’s behind these distortions. Certain hormones have the purpose of directing where fat is placed on the body, and it is a distortion of this function that causes different body shapes. 

As mentioned earlier, the primary purpose of fat is not to be a cushion or insulation. Its primary purpose is to provide an alternative fuel source when we run out of sugar fuel. In other words, fat is the alternate fuel used when there is no more sugar available. In truth, our original fuel source in the olden days was fat. Our bodies did very well on fat fuel, and we have the cellular machinery for this as well. Fat is a cleaner, more efficient and more stable fuel, enabling you to avoid the highs and lows of blood sugar fluctuations. 

Running your body on fat instead of sugar could be compared to running your car on electricity versus diesel fuel. But your body will ALWAYS use sugar first as a priority. Only when the body is depleted of dietary sugar will it switch back to fat fuel—the key words being depletion of sugar. Even tiny amounts of sugar can block fat burning. This is why you must keep sugars at zero. Zero. Sorry. But don’t worry; there’s some good news coming—you WILL be able to consume sweet desserts, just not desserts made from actual sugar. 

The other trigger that will prevent fat burning is stress. Stress activates hormones to keep you in sugar-burning mode; and even if there is no sugar in the diet, the body can turn its own proteins (muscles) into sugar. More on this later. I’ve been on a mission for many years to find the real underlying causes of health problems and stubborn weight, and I think you are going to like what I have found. The distinctive quality of this program is the discovery that different body shapes are the result of specific correlating glandular problems (adrenals, ovaries, thyroid and liver). This program targets ALL of these problems, allowing for maximum weight loss. 

One can’t just put everybody on the same foods and expect to be successful. Each person needs to eat and exercise for his or her specific gland weakness. I have identified four different and distinctive types of weight problems. The outside of the body gives.

The outside of the body gives clues as to what’s going on inside. In the case of the adrenal glands, the body when under stress will store energy (as fat) around the vital organs—in the abdomen. If there is an ovary problem, you’ll see excess fat accumulate around the hips and thighs with a lowerstomach bulge just under the bellybutton. When there is a weakness in the thyroid gland, because thyroid hormones are directed into all cells of the body, an overall appearance of weight gain will occur rather than in just one location. And when the liver is weak, fluid can leak into the sac around the abdomen, giving a “potbelly” appearance.

The Adrenal body shape is adipose tissue surrounding the organs in the abdomen (intra-abdominal fat) and is called a pendulous abdomen. The Latin derivation of pendulous, the verb pendere, means “to hang or sag.” The Ovary body shape is more of an estrogen cellulite-type fat, which is superficial (just under the skin) and mostly below the bellybutton. People call this “saddlebags” with a lower-stomach bulge. The Thyroid body shape is yet a different type of fat altogether. The weight is deposited all over the person’s body and is not really fat but more of a waste-like substance that accumulates between the cells. This condition is known as myxedema, and it can be likened to a sponge that holds in liquid and will not release it. Myx- comes from the Greek word myxa, meaning “mucus” or “slime,” and edema comes from the Greek oidēma, which means “swelling.” Then there is the Liver body shape. This is not always a fat situation; it can be a fluid problem, where an accumulation of fluid is leaking into the abdomen.
